On the lack of choice

Posted in Livejournal

Mmmkay… Just got my postal ballot for the queniborough council elections. I have two choices:

  • Michael Preston - Conservative. I obviously don’t want to vote for this guy - he’s a tory.
  • Simon Watts - Labour. I obviously don’t want to vote for this guy - he’s new labour.

What’s happened to politics? Imho British socialism took a nose dive when labour abandoned ideology in favour of votes, but that’s another story altogther.
Basically, what I want to do is stand as an independant in the next council elections. Does anyone know how I’d go about this?

Half the days gone and what have I done? Slept a lot, thats what. Bah!
