Bloody dog chewed through my notepad after I’d gone to bed last night.
Wanker.
Oh dear. I’ve just looked at the time and once again I’ve worked past midnight. I’m starting to get bed-sores from sitting in the same place so much. And the tips of my fingers actually hurt from the typing.
Which is why I’ve decided to link to the project I’m working on - even though it’s not even close to finised.
I’m quite chuffed with it. To appreciate it even a little you’ve gotta realise that:
Huzzah! Good to have that off my chest.
Why do I always forget that select-case is called switch in php? I always do it. Bah!
Oh-my-geek I have rage! So much rage! I can barely type I’m so ragey.
Why? Oh Why? Must the union website run on IIS? Why? Dear god why?
IIS does not support mod_rewrite, .htaccess or httpd.conf. This means I can’t give my new site pretty urls and can’t do this:
> Alias /users/ $PHP_USERS_HOME/htdocs
>
> AddType application/x-httpd-php .php
> php_value include_path ".:$PHP_USERS_HOME/include"
>
Which means my shiny new user management system can’t be installed. If anyone finds a workaround lemme know.
Meanwhile I’d like to be alone with my rage!
Huh. Messing around on myspace (oh god why?) when I found Fern Cottons page. Swoon.
Home again, home again, jiggity jig.
Oh to be back in the shire! Tis a joy I’d never really known before. Alfie is massive, Twiggy is docile and Mortimer is incontinent - aside from animals though nothings changed.
Last night I ended up going to the HotHouse. (why? why?) I was far too sober. Plus there was a vampire girl (who shall not be named) who tried to letch off me all night. Scary stuff.
Had a very pleasant journey this morning though with Pete - what a nice chap. =)
Well then. This weekend was interesting.
Went to stay with the Cottons and help Carols company Perfectly Happy People at the Baby Show at Excel in London. Was actually great fun - even if I did divide my time between selling to pregnant women and hauling things from the warehouse.
I even served Katie Price. She’s much nicer than I thought she’d be. Her mum was a bit fierce though.
In other news: We put the deposit on our house today. And we got permission to do our own gardening.
=)
Ooh! Exciting things happened today!
1) My motion at the UGM was passed with 100% support. I’m now leading a ‘working group’ with Anya on how to implement it.
2) We chose a house. Tis very lovely - 5 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, living room, (big) kitchen, conservatory and a big terraced garden. Oh! I’m full of ideas about the BBQ I’m going to make, the bike I’m going to buy and the bedroom I’m going to sleep in. Huzzah!
Unfortunately I’ve still not done my lab report for cognitive modelling. Bah!
Toms Top Tip: Three way conference calls on loudspeaker are awsome fun when conducted in one room - the feedback noises and echoes are really quite trippy. =)
