I love Wednesdays, despite having to start at 9:00.
They guarantee me an afternoon of carefree reflection without trvial distractions like lectures…
*sigh*

The case of the big wooly jumper

Posted in Livejournal

My parents bought me a lovely, big, warm wooly jumper when they were here the other weekend. For ages after it was my favourite bit of clothing.
I call it my Saab jumper because that’s what it makes me look like I ought to be driving. It’s a kinda brown/beige colour - the same colour as an ever increasing part of my wardrobe.
Lately I’ve been liking it less. Or rather I’ve begun to dislike what it has come to represent. I dislike the feeling that I’ve changed.
I’d never have worn a jumper like this before uni and I’m wondering why I like it so much now.
I know I’ve changed. I knew I would. I like who I am now. But I don’t like the feeling of drift - the feeling that you can’t hold onto the past forever.
I guess you can’t hoard past friends and experiences like you can the little things that now document their prior existence.
Shit, this is depressing. I don’t know why it is, I’m feeling quite good. Anyhow, this is me.
Nighty night.

Just got back from the orchestra - the London philharmonic. Was excedingly excellent.
Much love to Oboe players. And violinists.

Well. This morning I woke up very confused. I was in a sleeping bag (I don’t have a sleeping bag in Brighton), in someones conservatory (nor do I have a conservatory) with a raging headache and no clue as to my whereabouts.
All was revealed when Sian came in and offered me a cup of Tea. Sian, my befuddled brain remembers, is Rob’s housemate. This led me (eventually) to the conclusion that I was in Rob’s house. Having never previously been in Rob’s house this was quite a deduction. I was pleased and rewarded myself with a strobe light when the three of us later went to the car boot sale.
Further details of last night are quivering in the dark recesses of my mind. I think I may have married someone…

Is watching TV shows online productive way to spend ones time?
I’m doing it more and more at the moment. I like it better than actual TV because you can block the adverts (with adblock for firefox or similar) and watch what you want, when you want. Fan-twattin-tastic!
The election campaigns are going nicely. My candidates are mostly ahead as far as I can tell. Need to work a little on some of them…
My windows fixed, but no restrictor now. This means I have to close it whenever I’m not in the room which irritates me. I guess it’s not gonna happen again though.
Went with the Amnesty group to see Blood Diamonds. We handed out nearly all the leaflets before the manager told us to get lost. To be fair we had had permission from Odeon HQ, they just hadn’t told Mr Manager Chappy.

is coming on thursday, huzzah!
Can’t think of a lot more to say…
Toodles.
