Alex Rider…

Posted in Livejournal

So I’ve just driven back from the Meridian Leisure park, in the dark. Scary shit man. :s
Twas Sams birthday and the day has been spent frolicking. Got the night off work by sheer chance and had already spent the day with Megan and Sam. Sam very much enjoyed his enourmous rubber duckie and has named it Daphne - your guess, ladies and gents, is as good as mine.
The film was surprisingly good. I particularly enjoyed the lady with a knack for being attacked by marine creatures, she died after our hero (Alex Rider) uses his metal dissolving “zit-cream” to melt a tank containing a Portuguese Man-O-War, splendid! Lots of action, plenty of gunfights and even a sequence involving our hero and his sweetheart charging on horseback across London, via Hyde Park, in order to stop the villain (boo! hiss!) from activating the manual override; all this whilst being chased by the Queens mounted regiment in their full parade uniforms, sabres and all…
Gemmie comes home tomorrow, whoop!

So the forum seems to be picking up again. This warms me.
Also the new relief chef was on coke, I’m sure of it.

The holy grail of Tech Support™ is the reboot.
Also the smallest post office in the UK is in Dores, on the shore of Loch Ness.

Bread

Posted in Livejournal

Bread is wonderful.
You can do anything with bread, it is the perfect vehicle for a meal.
For instance, toast can be eaten on its own, with beans, with cheese, with cheese and beans, with tuna and cheese and/or beans, with honey, with jam, with marmalade, with marmite, with chocolate spread, with potted meat/pate/etc., etc…
You can also make sandwitches with most of the above combinations PLUS chunkier things like bacon, chicken, humus, tuna… You name it.
Then you can toast sandwitches… The possibilities are endless, and so far we’ve only covered sliced bread. Sliced bread is a huge genre - think white/brown/granary, thick slice/thin slice and kingsmill/tescos own (2p a loaf) - but we digress…
Lets consider the ciabatta loaf. Slice in two and it’s perfect for melts. It’s also better than a bun for burgers. A burger really is just a chunky steaky sandwitch, yum…
OK so what about baguettes? “What about them?” You cry - you did, I heard you. I’ll tell you what about baguettes: Baguettes can also make toast, sandwitches and melts. They’re also great for picnics, but the best possible use for a baguette, IMHO, is French Pizza: (see, that deserves capitals, it’s so good, really!) just slice it lengthways slap on some tomato puree and some cheese and whatever toppings you like. Grill till golden brown. Consume. Smile.

In other news: I curse kbluetoothd, it is poop.
